Where was James on September 11th?
He was coming back from an event in downtown Washington, D.C. when he got the news that the first plane had hit the Trade Center. He frantically tried to contact his wife and children but soon the cell service all along the eastern seaboard was overwhelmed with calls and he couldn’t get through. His children were taken out of school and returned home and the office received a call from The White House informing James that Mary was secure and safe. It took nearly three hours to make the short seven mile drive from downtown back to the office. By the time he arrived, he learned of the Pentagon attack and that both twin towers had collapsed.
